I'm by no means a writer, so much so that I have been putting off writing this for over a year now, but I'm going to sit here and do my best to tell you a little something about myself. I have always played music. It's the one thing I enjoy the most in life, and as a result, I am always playing music. It's not only my profession, but it is my release, my way of dealing with the world. After the worst day you've ever had, you can still sit and beat the shit out your drum set for an hour and get up feeling like you had the day off. I am always trying to learn new things, always trying to become better at something...with music, I can rest assured knowing that it is a lifelong learning process, that you will always be learning and getting better. If you're not...you're dead.

If there's one member in this band that is here for something other than an emotional connection, that would be me. Look, there is something about this music, something rare and inspiring to me, that I have never witnessed before, let alone been a part of. When Jeff is on stage, all eyes are on him, mine included. He is incredibly deep into his performance and with every word, pulls his audience closer. I've never seen a "front man" ignore the audience for the entire show, and yet still have their full attention. This band humbles me, excites me, kills me, enrages me, inspires me, it even depresses me, and I'm not sure how with no deep emotional connection, I still feel like I'm being pulled down.
